Priorities

- State General Aid: Supports a funding goal for state general aid of $202.6 million in keeping with the growing demands of Community College programs and Iowa’s fiscal realities.
- Workforce Training: Supports a long-term commitment of state and local assistance for skilled worker training through the Workforce Training and Economic Development Funds and other funding streams available to maintain and build capacity for skilled worker training.
- Adult Literacy: Supports a State of Iowa commitment and appropriation to Adult Literacy Programs to support Iowa’s illiterate adults, including dislocated workers without a high school diploma or GED.
- Local Governance: Supports the 15 Iowa Community College Boards’ local governance flexibility to access local tax support in its discretion to meet the needs of local workforce training and their local communities.
