State General Aid – a fundamental building block to ensure skilled workers with a broad base of knowledge
State General Aid increase of an estimated $13.75 million for FY2010 based on the formula adopted by the State Board of Education.
Workforce Training – a critical tool in maintaining and building capacity for skilled worker training through funds from ACE, Infrastructure, and Workforce Training and Economic Development Funds
A long-term financial commitment of $40-60 million to the Workforce Training and Economic Development Fund is necessary to maintain and build skilled worker training capacity.
Local Tax Support – a vital component in meeting capacity and local community needs
Additional local taxing authority that returns taxing levels to 25% of revenues.
Community College Salaries – a central element for quality staff and for student success
Increased salaries and equitably distributed supplemental salary appropriations for all staff.
Increased Financial Aid – a key to student success
Increased financial aid, particularly grant aid, for both degree seeking and skills training Community College students.
