Custodian (H/10) – 2 positions
Second Shift – The work schedule is Tuesday – Friday 4 p.m. – 12 midnight and
Saturday 3 – 11 p.m. OR Sunday 3 – 11 p.m. and Monday – Thursday 4 p.m. – 12 midnight.
The primary responsibility of this position includes general housekeeping duties, performing classroom, conference, and special event set-ups as directed. Secondary responsibilities are to assist with Grounds department or Building Maintenance department functions as necessary to provide a flexible position within a team environment.
Clean and maintain the facilities to established standards. Assist in the preparation and clean-up for classroom, conference, and special events as needed to meet customer satisfaction. Assemble, repair, move and deliver miscellaneous furniture and equipment. Assist the Grounds Supervisor or Building Maintenance Supervisor with miscellaneous duties as assigned. Use and care for equipment properly, including regular and preventive maintenance. Follow all safety codes, regulations, and established procedures. Work overtime as assigned. Perform in a manner which strengthens the coordination and cooperation of all organizational components of the College.
High school diploma or equivalent. Must be dependable, possess good work habits, and have the ability to get along well with people. This position requires a valid driver license. Completion of the National Career Readiness Certificate is recommended.
Physical Qualifications: Lift, carry, push, and pull objects which weigh up to 50 pounds frequently and heavier objects occasionally (e.g. furniture, supplies, trash containers, and equipment). Bending, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, along with considerable walking and standing is required
Equipment Used Includes: Ability to efficiently use floor care machines and equipment, along with miscellaneous hand tools, power tools, ladders, fork lift, platform lift, snow blowers, and pick-up truck.
The base salary for this position is $12.75 hourly in accordance with the salary scheduled established for Facilities Management personnel.
