Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Wisconsin and Illinois residents attending North Iowa Area Community College pay approximately $3,700 a year. The cost to non-residents runs approximately $5,300 a year. If you live in the residence halls, room and board is $4,800 annually. Students can also plan on spending roughly $800 a year for books and supplies.
Tuition charges reflect a $109.76 per credit hour rate (for Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Wisconsin and Illinois residents; non-residents pay $164.64 per credit hour), effective during the 2009 Fall Semester. The average full-time student takes 15 credit hours and the average part-time student takes 6 to 9 hours. A variety of financial assistance is available, including grants, scholarships, loans and part-time employment.

Nearly half of NIACC students receive financial assistance, and a majority work while attending school.
NIACC has a flexible payment plan which allows students to pay for their education on a monthly basis.
Students may qualify for a tax credit by attending NIACC. The HOPE tax credit applies to the first two years of college. The Lifetime Learning Credit is targeted to adults returning to school, changing careers, or taking a few classes to upgrade their skills.
