Extended Hours @
NIACC
Many offices at NIACC keep
extended hours in order to assist students who may not be able to visit
during regular business hours. Offices with such extended hours include
counseling and advising, the library and the Student Learning Center.
Contact individual offices for specific business hours.
Student Support
Services @ NIACC
Student Support Services (SSS) is
a program designed to help students succeed in college. SSS at NIACC
involves a variety of services designed to enhance students' potential for
successfully completing their program of study. Participation in SSS is
free of charge to eligible students. Student Support Services provides
individualized and group academic support, including tutoring, counseling,
courses, and transfer assistance.
Student Learning
Center @ NIACC
The
Student Learning Center
provides a place for individual students or groups to study with resources
close at hand. Students may drop in for help or make an appointment with an
instructor or peer tutor for help in most subject areas. The Student
Learning Center also offers solutions manuals and study guides for many
courses, video lectures for some classes, and a variety of other reference
materials. You can learn how to use study strategies, test taking tips and
note taking systems.
Older Wiser
Learners @ NIACC
If you’ve been out of the
educational system for some time, Older Wiser Learners (OWLS) may help you
feel more comfortable. Older Wiser Learners are adult students who gather
together to encourage each other, share success, solve problems, network,
listen to speakers, plan projects, meet new friends, let off steam, cut red
tape and learn about the college system. You’ll likely find strong support
and friendships through this group, which meets weekly for lunch.
