First year coach Steve Krafcisin and the NIACC men's basketball team finished its season at 17-15. The Trojans advanced to the Regional Championship game before losing 64-71 to eventual National Champions Kirkwood Community College. Highlights this season included a last second win at home against conference rival Waldorf College and the team's impressive play in the Regional Tournament. Steve Banks, a sophomore guard from Chicago, Illinois, and Kevin Jarm, a freshman forward from Elgin, Illinois, made the All-Region Second Team; while sophomores Shanard Banks and Mickey Sisk were Honorable Mention All-Region selections. Jarm and Shanard Banks also made the All-Tournament team for the Trojans.
The Lady Trojan basketball team finished its season with a record of 4-25. "We had a disappointing record, but I think we played as hard as we can play in every game," said head coach John Oertel. Highlights for this year's team included the defensive play of Jenna Nerby, a freshman point guard from Lake Mills and the play of Teresa Oertel, a freshmen guard from Mason City, who received Honorable Mention All-Region honors for the Lady Trojans.
The NIACC softball team finished its season with an impressive showing at the Regional Tournament, making the final four by defeating Iowa Lakes, Southwestern, and Iowa Western. "It was a great finish to our season," said recent head coach Tom Dunn. The Lady Trojans (23-27 overall) had three players named to All-Region teams. Lyndi Willett received Second-Team All-Region honors at designated hitter, while Paige Konicek and Maria Zmolek were Honorable Mention infield choices.
The NIACC baseball team finished its season at 9-31. "I thought our team played really hard all year," said head coach Jerry Dunbar. Highlights for this season included the play of Jaime Teply, a sophomore from Des Moines, and Neil Francois, a sophomore from Manchester, who were named to the first and second team All-Region, respectively. Teply led the conference in hitting with a .524 batting average and also received Third Team All-American honors.
