NIACC Athletic Training Mark Vrba - Head Athletic Trainer Mark Vrba was born and raised in Mason City and has been the Head Athletic Trainer at NIACC since the Fall of 2002. Mr. Vrba graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 2002 with degrees in Athletic Training and Biology and just recently completed his Master's degree in Exercise Science and Health Promotion: Performance Enhancement and Injury Prevention in December of 2005 from the California University of Pennsylvania. He is currently employed by the Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa Sports Medicine Center as a clinical athletic trainer. Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa and NIACC have an agreement which allows Mr. Vrba to act as the Head Athletic Trainer at NIACC as well as work in the Sports Medicine Clinic. Aside from his athletic training responsibilities, Mr. Vrba also assists in the coordination and implementation of the Mercy Acceleration Performance Enhancement program as both a performance enhancement specialist as well as a certifiied strength and conditioning specialist.
