
The 2009 season will see Mike Regan entering his 3rd
season as the Trojans Head Coach, after spending 2 years as assistant coach. He
has had success as a player and a coach in recent years and his soccer
background outside the
His record over two seasons is 27-8-2.
This record includes 132 goals scored, 27 conceded, with 21 shutouts, all
college records. He guided the Trojans to their first ever regional final in
2008, and he was named Regional Coach of the Year in 2007 and 2008.
Also, as head coach at the
Coach Regan began coaching while
he was a teenage student in his hometown of
Coach Regan is a graduate of NIACC and
is currently attending Waldorf College, from where he will graduate in April
2009 with a BA in Sports Management. Regan also holds a USSF National D
License.
Third-year assistant coach Aleksandar Bogdanovic will work in all aspects of soccer after spending the 2006 season as a volunteer assistant under previous head coach Colin Murphy.
Bogdanovic hails from Rijeka, Croatia, where he played indoor club soccer during his high school years. After high school, Bogdanovic played two years at NIACC as a defender, earning honorable mention All-Region XI honors twice. He recently completed his undergraduate work at NIACC and is transferring to Oregon State University in January 2009.
Colin Murphy is a second year assistant for the NIACC men's soccer program after having been head coach the previous four seasons. Goalkeeper Coach. Colin holds a USSF National “D” License, a certificate from the F.A. in Psychology for Football (Level 1) and a Manchester United Soccer School coaching symposium certification.
He served as head men’s soccer coach from 2003-06, compiling a record of 17-51. Eleven players received first or second team NJCAA All-Region XI honors during this period while two received national awards including NSCAA and NJCAA honorable mention all-American recognition. He founded the NIACC Soccer Academy, which was affiliated with Italian club AC Perugia, and served as its technical director.
He coached Clear Lake High School boy’s soccer from 2003-05 where he led the team to an overall record of 39-19, including a program record 17-3 season and top-ten final regular season ranking (1A #6) in 2003. Ten players received first or second team all-conference recognition, including one first-team all-State member.
