WEEK OF AUGUST 23 - 29, 2010

Volleyball

The NIACC Volleyball team participated in the Ridgewater Classic held in Willmar, MN on Friday, August 27th and Saturday, August 28th.  The team went 2-2 for the tournament facing some tough competition.  They will open home play on Thursday, September 2nd at 6:30pm.

Soccer

The NIACC Soccer team traveled to Great Bend, Kansas to compete in the Barton CC Tournament on Saturday, August 28th and Sunday, August 29th.  On Saturday, the Trojans faced Garden City Community College and ended with a 1-1 tie in double overtime.  On Sunday, they played the host team and won 2-0.  The team will travel to Fort Dodge on Wednesday, September 1st and face Iowa Central and will host Indian Hills on Saturday, September 4th at 4:00pm.

Women's & Men's XC

The NIACC Women's and Men's XC teams traveled to Council Bluffs, IA on Saturday, August 28th for the Region XI Time Trials.  Both teams had outstanding performances with a first place finish for the women and a second place finish for the men.  Freshman, Anna Buenneke, captured the title with a time of 19:43.78 which is also a 4th place NIACC record.  The teams will be traveling to Cedar Rapids on Saturday, September 4th to run in the Mustang Gallop hosted by Mount Mercy College.
