Trojans Remain UndefeatedRochester, MN (December 5, 2007) – The NIACC wrestling team pushed their dual meet record to 2-0 after a 27-18 victory over the Rochester Yellowjackets on Wednesday night in Rochester. It was the first road trip the Trojans have made for a dual. Despite the absence of four starters, the Trojans claimed the dual victory over the No. 3 rated NJCAA Division III Yellowjackets. Starting out for the Trojans was Jordan Bartoszek receiving the forfeit at 125. There was no match at 133. At 141, Shawn Saxe of Rochester won by fall over Seth Cooper of NIACC in 4:30. Getting the Trojans started in the win column was Albert White with a 25-10 technical fall over Rochester's Chad Stenson. Following up White was DaVaughn Perkins winning by fall over Matt Baier in 1:08, pushing his overall record to 14-4 on the year. At 165, the Yellowjackets would claim another win with Luke Evjen pinning NIACC's Aaron Hancock in 3:59. Stepping in for injured Tim Hill, NIACC's Jeff Ragan would see his first action of the season, but would fall short in his debut losing by decision to Chris Herrmann 9-8. Rochester's lone returning All-American, Nathan Clements, rated No. 3 in the country would continue his winning ways with a 10-4 victory over Jordan Graham at 184. The Trojans would close out the dual with two wins at 197 and heavyweight. Luke Stika, back in action after an injury would claim a major decision of 8-0 over Josh Ploetz and heavyweight Beau Tudor finished the Yellowjackets off with fall over Eric Walechka at 2:39. The Trojans will be back in action on December 7th at home hosting the No. 6 rated Neosho County Panthers at 7:00 pm and then at Wartburg College on Saturday December 8th at the Dick Walker Invitational.
