Semester Kick-Off for Lifelong Learning Institute Classes

The Lifelong Learning Institute at North Iowa Area Community College will start the semester off with a cup of coffee and a chance to meet new members, potential members and faculty of the Lifelong Learning Institute on Thursday, September 4 at 10 am at the Muse Norris Conference Center at NIACC. Registration for fall classes has begun. Classes are filling up.

The Kick-off Coffee event provides an opportunity for people to learn about the fall classes and meet instructors. Those who are interested in learning more about the Lifelong Learning Institute opportunities are encouraged to call 641-422-4358 to register for the coffee or to request a catalog.

“The Lifelong Learning Institute is a great opportunity for all ages of adults wanting to continue to learn college level subjects in short classes without grades or exams,” said Lifelong Learning member, Joanne Cutler. “I especially have enjoyed the history classes.”

A variety of topics are offered, including Storytelling, Anthropology of Magic, Agriculture 101, Friends and Family CPR and several classes about history, fitness, current events and more.

A $99 annual membership fee allows members to register for any or all classes for the fall and the spring semester without additional tuition.

Members become NIACC students with student ID’s and enjoy access to the library and other NIACC facilities.
