Garrison Keillor is the host and writer of A Prairie Home
Companion and The Writer's Almanac heard on public radio
stations across the country and the author of more than a dozen books,
including Lake Wobegon Days, The Book of Guys, Love Me,
and Homegrown Democrat. A humorist whose name is synonymous with
public radio and casual mid-western charm, Garrison Keillor is also a
frequent contributor to Time magazine, and until recently, wrote
a biweekly advice column, Dear Mr. Blue, for the online magazine,
Salon. A Prairie Home Companion the movie features an
all-star cast and crew including Meryl Streep, Lily Tomlin, Lindsay
Lohan, Woody Harrelson, Kevin Kline, Virginia Madsen, Tommy Lee Jones,
director Robert Altman, and Keillor as himself. The film is expected in
theatres early in 2006.
