This series features a course on World War II, including the award-winning television documentary produced by the British Broadcasting Corporation. Informative and unbiased, the series is the definitive visual history of World War II. The program features an extraordinary collection of newsreel and home-movie footage drawn from the archives of 18 nations. Moderated by John Schmaltz. Take a look at the years 1933-1940 when Germany was buckling under the weight of a humiliating defeat in WWI and unprecedented economic depression, Hitler and the Nazis gain power and momentum. May 1940-41 is the time period covered when France discovers it is woefully unprepared for modern warfare as the Nazi war machine easily skirts around the Maginot line and Great Britain retreats and prepares for invasion. The Americans are divided between fighting the Japanese and the Nazis. Hitler solves the conflict by declaring war on the United States. Film Series
The Mason City Noon Kiwanis and NIACC are proud to present their 2007-2008 Travel and Adventure Film Series. These live narrated films by professional film makers are an opportunity to armchair travel to some popular and exotic places around the globe. Show in the North Iowa Community Auditorium, these films appeal to a wide audience of travelers. Beautiful scenery, out of the ordinary locations, various cultures, and different people are depicted throughout the films.
