NIACC Foundation Board Members Retire

Joyce Hanes and Bonnie Bergman of Mason City and Charles MacNider of Clear Lake recently
retired from the North Iowa Area Community College Foundation Board of Directors.

Hanes retired from the NIACC Foundation Board after 25 years of service to the College. She became the first woman to join the NIACC Board of Directors back in 1975, serving as a NIACC trustee until 1992. The following year she joined the NIACC Foundation Board, where she served on the Executive and Investment committees. Hanes is the only person to have served as President of both the College and Foundation Boards. A faithful Foundation donor, she is currently a member of the "Keeping NIACC First" Campaign Executive Committee.

Bonnie Bergman served on the NIACC Foundation Board for 24 years, including many years as an Executive Committee member, and is a long-time Foundation donor. Three generations of her family chose NIACC first; she graduated from NIACC in 1976, and her son and granddaughter are also NIACC alumni.

Charlie MacNider served on the NIACC Foundation Board for eight years, during which he was active with the Investment Committee. His family has funded the Angus MacNider Memorial Scholarship since 1954, and he is currently co-chair of the "Keeping NIACC First" major gifts campaign, which has surpassed its $5 million goal.
