Job Summary
Provide support for the Workforce
Advisors/Employment Training Specialists.
Responsibilities
Provide administrative and clerical
support and assistance to Workforce advisors/Employment Training Specialists in
the day-to-day operations of the programs. Assist in the maintenance of files,
records, and databases utilizing its systems/programs. Assist with compiling of
data and queries of the databases to assist in case management and supporting
the federal/state work participation rate requirement efforts. Assist in
formatting, proofreading, and mailing of notices and correspondence to
participants. Responsible for the transfer of case files to other regions across
the state. Assist in the processing of PROMISE JOBS/WIA allowances and claims.
Mail, file, track and relay information to PROMISE JOBS regarding weekly GED
rosters and class schedules. Assist with the facilitation of various workshops.
Maintenance of closed files – filing, storage and purging. Prepare orientation
packets, new case files and various other forms. Assist in verification of job
search contacts and the group job search component. Attend PROMISE JOBS/WIA
staff meetings. Perform in a manner which strengthens the coordination and
cooperation of all organizational components of the College, including
opportunities for student recruitment.
Qualifications
A minimum of two years post-high school
education with relevant work experience; bachelor’s degree preferred. Able to
work independently and in a team setting with fixed deadlines. Position requires
advanced skills in data entry, Microsoft Office software, spreadsheets and
database programs. Must be able to produce a large amount of quality work in a
timely manner and work effectively. Confidentiality of participant records is
required. Ability to multitask and demonstrate high organizational skills while
being detail oriented. Salary/Benefits
Salary based on experience. Fringe benefits of Blue

The College
North Iowa Area Community College has the distinction
of being the first public two-year college in the state of Iowa, having
been established in 1918 as Mason City Junior College. NIACC is an integral
part of the educational, cultural, and economic foundation of the nine-county
region it serves. The College operates a main campus in Mason City, a progressive
community of 30,000 located halfway between Minneapolis, Minnesota, and
Des Moines, Iowa. The main campus encompasses over 500 acres of land, including
contemporary facilities, an agricultural technology center, athletic facilities,
and lakeside student housing. Mason City and surrounding communities provide
a strong manufacturing, retail, and medical base with outstanding schools and cultural
and recreational opportunities.

Workforce Development Center
Iowa Workforce Development in partnership
with NIACC and the Iowa Department of Human Services provide oversight
and administration of federal, state, and local Workforce programs.
Services are delivered throughout a seven-county area in North Iowa with
offices in Forest City, Charles City, and Mason City. The Mason City
Workforce Center was established in September 1996 to provide one-stop
employment services to employers and job seekers.
