The Automotive Service Technology Program at North Iowa Area Community College has been awarded Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Master Certification by the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF).
The program, instructed by Greg Arrowood and Joe Roemer on campus and Mark Poppe at the Automotive Tech Prep Hub in Clear Lake, has met the strict industry standards in the necessary areas required for this national certification.
According to Arrowood, the Automotive Department chose to seek this voluntary certification to further enhance the educational opportunities of the students NIACC serves.
In a letter to NIACC President Dr. David Buettner, ASE President Ronald H. Weiner expressed his congratulations. "Although many educational institutions strive for it, only a small percentage achieve this certification," he said. "Both the educational and automotive communities should be proud of your commitment to quality automobile training programs."
