The Area II Auto Technology class made its fourth annual trip to the Chicago Auto Show in Chicago, IL on Feb. 12th-14th. This show is the nations largest, with more than 1000 exciting new production cars, trucks, sport utility, concept and specialty vehicles on display, some of them never seen by the public before. Besides being one of the most dynamic displays of automobiles anywhere, the auto show is an educational experience showcasing the latest technological advancements in automotive engineering. The show featured new advancements in design, safety features, engine cut-outs, airbag models, anti-lock brake displays, and over thirty concept vehicles to show students the future of the automobile industry. In addition to attending the car show, students also visited the Museum of Science & Industry and the Sear’s Tower. Each year the trip proves to be a very worthwhile experience both educationally and culturally.
