The Murphy Manufacturing
Technology CenterThe global marketplace in which American business and industry now finds itself competing requires a workforce fluent in the methods of technology-driven companies. High paying, low skilled jobs no longer exist in America.
Today's manufacturing careers involve a blending of computerization, high-precision processes, and emerging electronic information technologies to improve quality, reduce cost, decrease cycle time and rapidly respond to customer needs.
Advances in technology have created a shortage of highly skilled workers. Designed by industry and education leaders, the Murphy Center is positioned to positively impact the number of high performance technicians and provide North Iowa's manufacturing community with an elite workforce.
A substantial gift from NIACC alumni David and Phyllis Murphy provided the impetus to create the Murphy Center which serves employees from local industries as well as degree-seeking students preparing to become high performance technicians.
