Service Learning

Service Learning gives our students the opportunity to learn necessary trade skills while performing work which benefits non-profit, community-based organizations. Learning about civic engagement teaches students the value of being involved in their communities. During the past few years, NIACC Building Trades students have been involved in service learning activities for the Mason City Community Theatre, North Iowa Humane Society, and Habitat for Humanity. More recently, students have developed structures for the North Iowa Fair as well as structures on NIACC’s campus.
