North Iowa Area Community College signed ten more student athletes for the 2009-2010 women’s basketball season: Holly Hinderman, Alanna Bamrick, Courtney Chrencik, Natalie Braun, Tori Zalaznik, Charmin Anderson, Dani Mangen, Lauren Gardner, Akilah Hudnell and Jamelia Hudnell.
“This is our best recruiting class in a number of years. We’ve got good numbers and they’re very athletic. I think we got the best players in North Iowa and some very good talent from out of state. We are hoping this solves the problem we have had the last two seasons with lack of depth which did affect what we wanted to do on the basketball floor,” John Oertel, NIACC women’s basketball head coach, said. “We have four experienced sophomores returning who I hope will give us the foundation of a very good basketball team and be great mentors for the freshmen in how physically demanding college basketball is and how to put NIACC back up with the leaders in Iowa Juco basketball.”
Hinderman graduated from Mason City Newman Catholic High School. She was 1st Team All State and averaged 18 points per game. Hinderman was a unanimous 1st Team All Conference selection.
Bamrick graduated from West Fork High School. She was 1st Team All Conference and averaged 15 points per game.
