This camp will follow a Player Development Program, which has a focus on skills such as passing, receiving, dribbling to beat an opponent, finishing, 1 v. 1 and 1 v. 2 defending and goalkeeping. These skills will be practiced during small-sided games with teams of three or four players. Players will receive a lot of ball touches under the guidance of NIACC Soccer Academy coaches.
Campers will also practice drills, fielding fundamentals and throwing mechanics. The goal of this camp is to have participants leave with a better understanding of the importance of great defensive play and how to accomplish it. Items required for the camp are a water bottle, sack lunch, snacks, a soccer ball, and a willingness to play soccer.
