North Iowa Area Community College is honored to present the Peking Acrobats. The Peking Acrobats will take the North Iowa Community Auditorium stage on Sunday, February 17, at 7:00 p.m. as a part of the 2007-2008 NIACC Performing Arts Series. Tickets are on sale now and cost $20 in advance and $25 at the door.

Hailing from the People’s Republic of China, The Peking Acrobats have for decades been diplomats of their spirited culture. Since 1958, this elite group has toured the world over, leaving audiences spellbound by the graceful presentation of their ancient folk art, and acrobatics. Hand selected from the finest acrobat schools in China, these gymnasts, jugglers, cyclists and tumblers transform 2000-year-old athletic disciplines into an all-ages kaleidoscope of entertainment and wonder.

The troupe remains the largest of its kind and performs under the direction and choreography of the Hai Family, known the world over for more than three generations of Chinese acrobatics. In addition to live musical accompaniment from an exotic Chinese orchestra, the Acrobats now travel with one of the most comprehensive tech packages on the road today. It includes a full intelligent lighting system, a complete video system with multiple screens, smoke, ground fog and other special effects.

The Los Angles Times elaborates, “The Peking Acrobats regularly passed from the seemingly impossible to the virtually unbelievable.”

For tickets to the Peking Acrobats, call the NIACC Box Office at 1-888-466-4222, ext.4188.  Platinum sponsors for the 2007-2008 series include NIACC, Globe Gazette Elizabeth Muse Norris Charitable Fund; the Globe Gazette; Alliant Energy; Community National Bank; Henkel Construction; and Principal Financial Group.  Gold sponsors include David and Cathy Beck; First Citizens National Bank; First State Bank of Belmond; Kraft; Mercy Medical Center – North Iowa; Martin, Cooney, MacNider & Cooney, Financial Consultants of Raymond James and Associates, Inc.; Sukup Manufacturing; and UBS Wealth Management.  In kind sponsors include Hanford Inn; KIMT; and Pepsi.
