North Iowa Area Community College and Community National Bank are honored to present Simply Sinatra: A Tribute Starring Steve Lippia. Simply Sinatra will take the North Iowa Community Auditorium stage on Saturday, September 6, at 7:30 p.m. as a part of the 2008-2009 NIACC Performing Arts Series. Tickets are on sale now and cost $27 in advance and $30 at the door.

Steve Lippia has become one of the most prominent, in-demand vocalists in the country. He has quickly established himself as one of the finest interpreters of the great American classic standards and adult contemporary pop music in the nation. His high impact, high energy show ranges from powerful to subtle, sassy to wistful, elegant to sublime. Lippia's great voice, excellent stage presence and charisma have thrilled audiences where he has headlined at major venues in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, New York City, Europe and symphonies across the U.S.A.

Lippia’s show, Simply Sinatra is a rich, powerful celebration of some of the greatest music this country has known with a hot, driving 16-piece band behind him. He possesses great stage presence- a charm and ease that immediately endears him to audiences. His natural sound and style is a remarkable combination of his own honest musical interpretation and influences from some of the best singers of this era. It is immediately apparent that Lippia’s sound is reminiscent of the young Frank Sinatra combined with that of Harry Connick, Jr. and Bobby Darin.

Lippia has recently performed to sold-out audiences with major symphonies across North America including, Alabama, Greensboro, Hilton Head, North Carolina, Mansfield, Tacoma, Duluth-Superior and the Louisiana Philharmonic. Between 2005 and 2007 he signed contracts with the Naples Philharmonic, Rochester Philharmonic, Winnipeg, Tucson, Allentown, Lake Charles, Altoona, Lexington, Colorado, Edmonton, Forth Worth and Vancouver as well as a number of others for 2006 to 2008.

Lippia’s much acclaimed, self-titled CD was recorded at Warner Brothers’ Studio in Los Angeles with a 41-piece symphony. In addition, he has recorded “Steve Lippia Live,” a collection of some of his live performances.

He brings to life the music and lyrics of our greatest composers such as Cole Porter, Harold Arlen, Sammy Cahn, Jimmy Van Heusen and Rodgers and Hart. His repertoire includes such great standards as: I’ve Got You Under My Skin, The Lady is a Tramp, Mack the Knife, Just the Way You Are and That’s life.
Lippia has headlined to standing room only crowds at the legendary “Birdland Jazz Club” in New York City, backed by the Nelson Riddle and Woody Herman Orchestra. He performed in a highly successful European Jazz Festival Tour that resulted in a nationally televised special on Finnish TV2. Lippia has performed at numerous prestigious special events, including a $1,000 per plate gala event for the world-renowned JazzAspen Festival.
