And a Strategy for Defeating the Terrorists with Peter Bergen. Peter Bergen will take the North Iowa Community Auditorium stage on Thursday, September 13, at 7:30 p.m. as a part of the 2007-2008 NIACC Leadership Series. Tickets are on sale now and cost $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Peter Bergen is today's foremost commentator on the new generation of terrorism that threatens the West. Author of the two New York Times bestsellers Holy War, Inc., and The Osama bin Laden I Know, Bergen is one of the few Westerners to have interviewed Osama bin Laden face-to-face. He has written prolifically on al Qaeda and terrorism for a variety of publications, including the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, The New Republic, and Time. Bergen also serves as CNN’s terrorism analyst. CNN produced a two hour documentary, In the Footsteps of bin Laden, in 2006 based on The Osama bin Laden I Know, and Bergen served as a producer for the film. Currently, Bergen is a Schwartz senior fellow at the New America Foundation and is an Adjunct Professor at the School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University.
