Feb 28, 2008
Ref. 2785
The 2007-2008 Travel and Adventure Series will continue this month at North Iowa Area Community College. The “The Real World of New Zealand” film by Rick Howard, takes this season’s series to the most beautiful place on earth, New Zealand.
NIACC and the Mason City Noon Kiwanis sponsor the Travel and Adventure Series. There will be a 15- minute intermission at which time door prizes will be given away. The film will be presented at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 1, in the North Iowa Community Auditorium.
New Zealand consists of two spectacular islands, located just over twelve hundred miles off the coast of Australia. These islands offer the visitor an entire gamut of action, adventure, history, and beauty.
Auckland, which is the northern island, is filled with wide open spaces and friendly people who will go out of their way to make a tourist feel welcome. By far, most of the New Zealanders live on the north island, with its warmer climate, and thriving action and adventure sports.
New Zealanders have a love for nature and adventure. Jet boats were invented here, and bungee jumping began here. As a tourist, you can bungee from the high bridges, or speed along tranquil rivers on powerful jet boats almost anywhere in the country.
The south island is colder and much less populated than the north island, but the most beautiful scenery can be found here. The south island is truly one of nature’s wonderlands. Whether on land, in the air, or under the sea, New Zealand has it all.
Admission to “The Real World of New Zealand” is at the door is $5 for adults and $3 for students. Tickets can be purchased at NIACC or from any Mason City Noon Kiwanis member. All proceeds go towards area youth programs. For additional information, call NIACC Continuing Education at 641-422-4358 or 1-888- GO NIACC, ext. 4358.
