Do You Qualify for a 2010 Iowa Small Business Loan?
Legislation passed during the 2010 Iowa legislative session created the Iowa Small Business Loan (ISBL) program, a new loan opportunity for Iowa-based and Iowan-owned small businesses. ISBL received $5 million in funding to help existing and new small businesses in the creation and retention of jobs.

Seven Finalists Selected for 2010 John Pappajohn Iowa Business Plan Competition
Seven businesses have been chosen as finalists for the 2010 John Pappajohn Iowa Business Plan Competition. Two companies, Cabin Coffee Franchising, Inc. and Growth Design Energy Mt. Valley LLC, are based in the North Iowa region.

NIACC FastTrac® and NewVenture™ Entrepreneurial Classes Start Soon
FastTrac® NewVenture™ classes, the proven course to help you start and run a business, will be offered at three sites throughout north Iowa this fall. These classes will provide guidance and knowledge for the start-up entrepreneur and help put a new spin on improving a current owner’s business. Sessions will be held in Charles City/Osage, Lake Mills, and Mason City, with the first class scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m., August 23, in the Heritage Room at First Citizens National Bank, Charles City.
