Fundraiser Set for NIACC Charles City Scholarship
The North Iowa Area Community College Charles City Scholarship Committee will host “Magic Carpet Ride,” the 19th annual scholarship fund-raising event on Thursday, September 9, at the NIACC Charles City Center.

NIACC Charles City Science and Technology Academy Fundraiser Set for June 24
Business and community leaders from Charles City have joined with North Iowa Area Community College to raise funds for an initiative which will bring more learning opportunities in the areas of science and technology, engineering and math (STEM) to local high school students. The NIACC Charles City Science and Technology Academy will offer college courses to academically prepared students. The Academy will benefit students by enhancing their college preparation and future career opportunities.

NIACC Pathways to Success Honored 47 Student Leaders, 2 Notable Alumni
North Iowa Area Community College recognized 47 student leaders at the 20th annual Pathways to Success luncheon held last month in the Muse-Norris Conference Center at NIACC. The program highlights the achievements of alumni and recognizes the potential of current student leaders. The students recognized at the event were nominated by two or more faculty or staff for their academic achievement, positive attitude, character, teamwork and ability to inspire others. The program also recognized the 2010 Outstanding Alumnus Senator William Dotzler Jr. (’69) and the 2010 Distinguished Alumna Dianne L. Dethmers Paca (’60).

Students, Alumni to be Honored at 20th Annual Pathways to Success
The public is invited to attend the NIACC Alumni Association’s 20th Annual Pathways to Success luncheon on Wednesday, April 14. The event will begin at 11:30 a.m. in the Muse Norris Conference Center on campus.

North Iowans Join NIACC Foundation Board of Directors
The NIACC Foundation recently elected four North Iowans to its Board of Directors. Philip Garland of Garner, LeAnn Hewitt of Ventura, Denise Kuhn of Charles City and Jack Nielsen of Mason City officially joined the NIACC Foundation Board at the December 2009 meeting.
