Robot Donated to NIACC Industrial Division
The North Iowa Area Community College Industrial Division has received a generous donation of a restored Yamaha YK740 (a 20 kilogram 4 axis SCARA robot) from Robert Franken, electromechanical instructor at NIACC, for use in the Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and advanced automation labs at the College. The donation was made through the NIACC Foundation.

NIACC Pathways to Success Honored 41 Student Leaders
North Iowa Area Community College recognized 41 student leaders at the 19th annual Pathways to Success luncheon held April 16 in the Muse-Norris Conference Center at NIACC. Honorees were nominated by NIACC faculty and staff for their academic achievement, positive attitude, character, teamwork and ability to inspire others. The event also featured a keynote address by 2009 Outstanding Alumna Dr. Norma Cook Everist, Class of 1958.

The public is invited to attend the NIACC Alumni Association’s 19th Annual Pathways to Success luncheon on Thursday, April 16. The event will begin at 11:30 a.m. in the Muse Norris Conference Center on campus.

Communications 1 Network, Inc. Scholarship Established Through the NIACC Foundation
The NIACC Foundation is pleased to announce that Communications 1 Network, Inc. of Kanawha has established a term scholarship fund to benefit students from their service area. Communications 1 Network offers telephone, internet, cable television and wireless services to their customers.

North Iowans Join NIACC Foundation Board of Directors
The NIACC Foundation recently elected six North Iowans to its Board of Directors. Pat Galasso of Clear Lake, Bill Johnson of Belmond, Karen Knudtson of Mason City, David Moore of Mason City, Jim Niemants of Clear Lake and Ken Peterson of Lake Mills officially joined the NIACC Foundation Board in 2009.
