Additional Financial Assistance Available through Small Business Disaster Recovery Grant Program
Small businesses, family farms and non-profit organizations impacted by the 2008 summer disasters can now apply for additional financial assistance through the Small Business Disaster Recovery Grant Program. The program, administered by Iowa Workforce Development (IWD), provides up to a $5,000 grant for damages incurred from last year’s floods and tornadoes.

Non-Profit Agencies May Apply for Summer Youth Employment Training Participation
The Region 2 Workforce Development Partnership is implementing a Summer Youth Employment and Training program in Cerro Gordo, Floyd, Franklin, Hancock, Mitchell, Winnebago and Worth counties. This program is funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, the federal government’s economic stimulus initiative.

The Workforce Development Partnership between North Iowa Area Community College and the Iowa Workforce Development received the Excellence in Business/Economic Development Model Award Honorable Mention at the Greater Lakes Employment and Training Association (GLETA) Recognition Awards.
