If your “boardroom is in the bathroom,” then you need to attend the Entrepreneurs’ Exchange at North Iowa Area Community College on Wednesday, April 16 in McAllister Hall, Room 104G from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Jay Ebben, entrepreneur and Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship at the University of St. Thomas, will be the featured speaker. There is no cost to attend this FREE event.
No one said owning a home based business was easy – especially when your business partner came with the phrase “til death do us part.” Jay Ebben will present 90 minutes of real-life tips for solving challenges unique to home based business owners. In 2005, Ebben and his wife, Chantelle, started up Rockabye Rentals which rents infant and toddler gear to Twin City visitors. In addition to his start up, Ebben teaches undergraduate and graduate courses on opportunity assessment, new venture strategy and also advises students who are starting their own business at the University of St. Thomas. Some of the topics Ebben will cover include: making your home based business work for you – organizing and growing; time management – how to balance business with family; keeping your eye on the ball without losing your marbles – staying true to your vision and mission; and where to go for help.
To insure adequate space and refreshments for everyone, RSVPs for the Entrepreneurs’ Exchange are appreciated. For vendors who market goods or services to home based businesses, a limited number of FREE display tables are available. Please email incubator@niacc.edu or call Kelley at 641-422-4384 or toll-free at 1-888-GO NIACC, ext. 4384.
