Matt Kinley, V.P. of Equity Dynamics, announced that Tad Andreasen – Andreasen Racing, Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management major at NIACC, was one of three first place winners of a $5000 award at the Eighth Annual New Venture Business Plan Competition, which is funded by John Pappajohn and Equity Dynamics. Andreasen business is Andreasen Racing and is a marine sales, service and repair business.
The Pappajohn New Venture Business Plan Competition was held in Des Moines on Thursday, March 27, with 14 regional winners making their presentations to executives of Equity Dynamics. The other two first place winners were John Slump and Jared Garfield, University of Iowa - J & J Solutions; and Andy Heidloff, Iver Anderson and Joel Reiken, ISU – Iowa Powder Atomization Technologies.
“ I have literally been a “Garage Entrepreneur” for the past five years repairing, building and painting personal watercraft in my unheated apartment garage. I’m now ready to make my dreams happen!” stated Andreasen after the judges made their announcement that his business plan was one of the top three winners. Andreasen is also president of the NIACC Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization.
