NIACC’s John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center encourages tax professionals, attorneys, payroll professionals and industry partners to utilize a FREE forum on Recordkeeping for Small Business and Self Employed Individuals given by the IRS on Wednesday, October 22.

This free-by-phone session will provide valuable information for business owners and business counselors on acceptable types of business records, how long to keep business records and why good business records are necessary. Learn about recordkeeping for small business/self-employed individuals, including subtopics such as what books and records are, why books and records are needed, who should have books and records, how good books and records can shorten an audit, how long books and records should be kept.

Pre-registration is necessary with AT&T, and participant materials will be e-mailed prior to the event.

There are three convenient times (9 a.m., noon and 3 p.m.) that the session will take place. You will need the following Access Code to register:  393508 for 9 a.m., 125274 for noon and 725297 for 3 p.m.

The IRS also provides a new Web-based version of the popular Exempt Organizations Workshops, which covers tax compliance issues confronted by small and mid-sized tax exempt organizations, at: www.stayexempt.org. The online training website does not require registration and visitors will remain anonymous.

The John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center is located on the North Iowa Area Community College campus in Mason City, Iowa and provides college level courses and degree programs in entrepreneurship, as well as consulting services for business start-ups and existing industries in the North Iowa region.  The Center also provides FastTrac ® training programs both for start-up companies and established companies.  Space is also available in the North Iowa Business Incubator for start-up businesses.  For more information, contact the NIACC JPEC at 641-422-4342.
