Innovations Unlimited, LLC, an Iowa company formed in August 2007 with offices in Cresco, has received Wellmark Venture Capital Funding.  This award marks another approved Wellmark Community Ventures Fund project coordinated through the North Iowa Area Community College John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center.  Mark Voves, principal owner of the company, is a successful inventor who holds numerous patents.  He previously brought inventions to market as commercially successful ventures.

“With the guidance and cooperation of the staff at the NIACC JPEC, the funds were granted to Innovations Unlimited, LLC for further research and development, sales and marketing, and administrative expenses,” Voves said.

Voves invented the patent pending Versa-Trailer, an innovative trailer which will appeal to a wide segment of the trailer market.  The Versa-Trailer can be a full trailer, a yard trailer, and a cargo carrier all in one product.  In addition to its versatility, the Versa-Trailer can also be stowed for convenient storage when not in use.  Two manufacturers have licensed the rights to produce the trailer for their own line of trailer offerings.

“As an entrepreneur Voves has done a great job at identifying a niche in the market and providing a unique solution.  Voves also as a classic inventor went a couple steps further in securing several manufacturing licensing agreements as well as additional equity investments for his business.  Accomplishing both of these steps validates his product in the market place through other individuals who already have a foothold in this market segment,” Tim Putnam, NIACC JPEC associate director, said.

The John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center is located on the North Iowa Area Community College campus in Mason City, Iowa and provides college level courses and degree programs in entrepreneurship, as well as consulting services for business start-ups and existing industries in the North Iowa region.  The Center also provides FastTrac ® training programs both for beginning companies and existing companies.  For more information, contact the NIACC JPEC at 641-422-4342.
