Do you have a business idea you’ve wanted to UNLEASH? It’s time you get down to business. Start with FastTrac® LaunchPad™ on March 17th to get your arms around your idea with an introductory free two-hour session for those who are interested in the FastTrac® program but need more information. Then dive into FastTrac® NewVenture™ classes, which are designed for those looking to start a new business AND for new business owners, beginning April 8th. These courses are presented by the North Iowa Area Community College John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center and the Small Business Development Center (SBDC).
FastTrac® NewVenture™, scheduled to meet Monday and Thursday evenings beginning April 8th and ending May 13th, is designed for the start-up entrepreneur. Monday sessions will be held in Thorson Hall Room 121 at Waldorf College in Forest City, and Thursday sessions will be held at the Community Education Center in Garner. The FastTrac® LaunchPad™ March 17th class will be held in the TSB Community Room in Forest City.
Through the course participants will evaluate and design a business concept and write a feasibility plan. Approaches to marketing, creating a market penetration strategy, understanding the customer and pricing methods will be discussed along with various other topics.
FastTrac® entrepreneurial training began in North Iowa ten years ago. FastTrac® graduates have started over 225 businesses in North Iowa and today 78% of these businesses are still going strong today. Participants will receive two hours of credit for the course.

The John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center is located on the North Iowa Area Community College campus in Mason City and provides college level courses and degree programs in entrepreneurship, as well as comprehensive consulting services for business start-ups, existing industries and owner transitions in the North Iowa region. Space is available for start-up businesses in the North Iowa Business Incubator.
