NIACC FastTrac® and NewVenture™ Entrepreneurial Classes Start Soon
FastTrac® NewVenture™ classes, the proven course to help you start and run a business, will be offered at three sites throughout north Iowa this fall. These classes will provide guidance and knowledge for the start-up entrepreneur and help put a new spin on improving a current owner’s business. Sessions will be held in Charles City/Osage, Lake Mills, and Mason City, with the first class scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m., August 23, in the Heritage Room at First Citizens National Bank, Charles City.
Charles City and Osage are co-sponsoring the first series of classes for the fall FastTrac® NewVenture™ session. Classes will be held on Monday evenings from August 23 to November 1, with no class on Labor Day, September 6. Charles City will be the host site for the class from August 23 to September 27 at the Heritage Room in First Citizens National Bank. From October 4 to November 1, classes will be held in the NIACC Conference room at the Osage Library. All classes will begin at 6 p.m. and end at 9:30 p.m.
Lake Mills will host the second series of FastTrac® New Venture™ classes. These classes will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, September 7 through October 7, in the Lake Mills High School computer room. These classes will begin at 6:00 p.m. and end at 9:00 p.m.
Mason City will host the final set of classes, which will be on Thursday evenings. Classes will be held in the NIACC Pappajohn Business Center, Room 117 and will run from September 30 to December 9. Classes will begin at 6:00 p.m. and end at 9:30 p.m.
Throughout the classes participants will evaluate and design a business concept; write a feasibility plan; discover approaches to marketing, understanding the customer and pricing methods along with various other topics. Participants will receive 2 hours of credit for the course.
FastTrac® has over 15 years of proven success for helping the new and existing business get on the right track. Graduates of FastTrac® have started over 225 businesses in North Iowa and today 78% of these businesses are still going strong.

The John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center is located on the North Iowa Area Community College campus in Mason City and provides college level courses and degree programs in entrepreneurship, as well as comprehensive consulting services for business start-ups, existing industries and owner transitions in the North Iowa region. Space is available for start-up businesses in the North Iowa Business Incubator.
