NIACC Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center Names New Advisory Board Member

Alan Powell has joined the North Iowa Area Community College John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center Advisory Board. 

Powell is president/owner of Jendro Sanitation of Charles City.  Jendro Sanitation provides a variety of waste services to customers in Northern Iowa including residential collection services, as well as commercial collection.  Powell has an extensive background in engineering.  Prior to purchasing his own business in 1995, he was a Systems Engineer and Assistant Manager with General Mills in Cedar Rapids and Senior Chemical Engineer at the Gillette Manufacturing Center in St. Paul, MN.

Powell has a BS degree in Chemical Engineering from Iowa State University and a BS degree in Electronics from Cameron University, Lawton, OK.  He and his wife, Linda, live in Charles City with their two sons, Jeffrey and Kevin. 

Other members of the Board include: Gary Christiansen, Carolyn Frakes, Pat Galasso, Tom Jolas, Bob Klocke, Curtis Lewerke, John Pappajohn, Tom Lundeen, Paul Stevenson, Ted Vosburg, Steve Weiss and Terry Wisner. 

The John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center is located on the North Iowa Area Community College campus in Mason City, Iowa and provides college level courses and degree programs in entrepreneurship, as well as consulting services for business start-ups and existing industries in the North Iowa region.  The Center also provides FastTrac ® training programs both for beginning companies and existing companies.  For more information, contact the NIACC JPEC at 641-422-4342.
