North Iowa Area Community College’s Lifelong Learning Institute will offer the course Religion and Spirituality: Postmodern Partners in Pursuit of Meaning this month.
The interactive seminar will explore the relationship between religion and spirituality, examining both through a historical lens and an applied practicality.
In an ecumenical and interfaith environment, participants will consider how religion and spirituality function in the human struggle for meaning, purpose and value. Personal and corporate religious rituals and spiritual practices will be examined. Special attention will be given to the ways in which a postmodern context informs and influences this dynamic, interwoven relationship.
Reverend Charlene Cox will serve as the instructor for this Lifelong Learning Institute course, which will consist of four 90-minute sessions at 6:30 pm on November 11, 13, 18 and 20, in Beem Center Room 219.
Although the course was developed for Lifelong Learning Institute members, non-members may register by calling the NIACC Lifelong Learning Institute at 641-422-4358 or toll-free at 1-888-GO NIACC, ext. 4358. Tuition for non-members costs $35.00.
