North Iowa Area Community College will hold Quilting Treasures on Saturday, October 3 from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
The event offers ideas and inspirations with an opportunity to hear from nine experts and enthusiasts in the art of quilting.
Nationally-acclaimed guest speaker Julie Truax-Tebay will present a quilt talk and trunk show. Truax-Tebay owns Quilting Plus in Rochester, a hand quilting service which employs Amish women.
Workshops presented throughout the day include the latest and greatest quilting ideas and gadgets, pattern design and sewing techniques. Quilt shops and quilters from Alexander, Algona, Britt, Forest City, Mason City, Osage, St. Ansgar, Waverly and Sherburn, Minnesota, will be the workshop presenters and have products for sale on Market Street throughout the day.
Workshops, speakers and vendors will inspire quilters with new techniques and designs. Lunch and snacks are provided.
