North Iowa Area Community College will host a Gardening Seminar on Thursday, March 25, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will offer participants an opportunity to learn from educators and local gardening specialists as well as get an early start on the gardening season in North Iowa.
Gardeners can attend workshops offered on different subjects such as composting, growing and using herbs, growing herbaceous ornamentals, gardening for butterfly habitat, growing prairie grasses, attracting and managing birds and wildlife in your yard. The presenters will open a whole new world of gardening for participants to explore. Iowa gardening specialists who will present include: Renee Bartling, Todd VonEhwegen, Ellen Montgomery, Randy Busch and Iowa State University Horticulturist Richard Jauron.
The Gardening Seminar is sponsored by NIACC in cooperation with Iowa State University Master Gardeners.
Seminar registration costs $25 and includes a noon lunch. Reservations are taken at 1-888-GO NIACC, ext 4358.
