Ref. 3147
North Iowa Area Community College student senate members and women’s softball players collected over 700 pounds of clothing donations for their Haitian Earthquake Clothing Drive to support victims of the devastating earthquake in Haiti.
"We know that the earthquake in Haiti affected so many people. We wanted to do our part to help in some small way and, hopefully, to get other people thinking about what they can do to help. We're happy to have led this effort,” Tyler Sisco, NIACC director of student life and women’s softball coach, said.
Once clothing donations were collected, the students sorted and packed the items for shipping. Cash donations were used for shipping costs as well as in-kind transportation donations from Dohrn Transfer.
