Burdick Receives Distinguished Service Award Emeritus from IALL
Bill Burdick, a recent retiree of North Iowa Area Community College, was recognized with the Distinguished Service Award Emeritus at the annual Iowa Association for Lifelong Learning conference. The award was presented at a special ceremony on July 16 in Des Moines.
As a Business Coordinator in the NIACC Continuing Education department, Burdick increased membership in the President’s Club and Business Partnerships. These partnerships represent nearly 16,000 employees across North Iowa. “I enjoyed working with the many business leaders in North Iowa,” said Burdick.
Burdick has served as the Iowa Association for Lifelong Learning (IALL) president, conference chair and has been an IALL conference presenter. His service extends to the national level where he was a member of the conference planning committee for the Missouri Valley Adult Education Association, a seven-state regional organization.
In addition to his collegiate work, Burdick has served in leadership positions with Habitat for Humanity and First United Methodist Church, as well as active membership with the Mason City Noon Rotary club.
Each year IALL confers several categories of awards to recognize and honor outstanding accomplishments in the field of continuing and adult education. The Distinguished Service Award is given to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to IALL; exhibit leadership ability, initiative, creativity, delegation; and exhibit quality of service and community involvement.
