Two NIACC Athletes to Play Division I Sports
NIACC basketball players Clyde McCully and Katie Schneider both
signed National Letters of Intent to play basketball at the Division I
level. McCully will transfer to the University of Tennessee at
Chattanooga, a member of the Division I Southern Conference. Schneider
will play for San Jose State University in San Jose, California in the
Western Athletic Conference (WAC) next season.

McCully, a sophomore point guard for the Trojans from
Beaumont, Texas, averaged 19.9 points and 7.1 assists per game
this season. He holds single-season records for most free throws
made (149), most attempted (217), and most assists (229). He is
also the all-time school assist leader with 438. |
| Schneider, from Oelwein, was a 6’5" center for the Lady
Trojans. She averaged 5.8 points per game and 5.3 rebounds per
game for the team. San Jose State will look to community college
transfers to help with a winning season with seven JUCO players
in this year’s recruiting class. |
