Wells Fargo Bank Contributes to "Keeping NIACC First" Campaign

North Iowa Area Community College announces a gift of $48,500 from Wells Fargo Bank to the "Keeping NIACC First" major gifts campaign. The donation was formally recognized at a dinner prior to the NIACC Foundation Board meeting on Tuesday, December 5.

A portion of the gift will ensure the continuation of the Wells Fargo Bank Scholarship through the NIACC Foundation. More than 40 NIACC students have benefited from scholarships in the bank’s name since 1986.

The majority of the gift is unrestricted, to be used by the College for the most pressing priorities. The remaining amount will support the NIACC Leadership Series and the NIACC athletic program.

"Wells Fargo is proud to partner with NIACC because it is such a valuable asset not only to the Mason City community, but all of North Iowa," said Dennis Fryar, bank president.

Norwest Bank, and now Wells Fargo Bank, of Mason City has been a faithful NIACC Foundation donor since 1973. The bank, for instance, sponsored one of six meeting rooms in the Muse-Norris Conference Center when the facility was constructed in 1990. The following year, the bank’s support helped launch the initial Drake MBA Program on the NIACC campus. With the recent gift, the bank’s historical giving to NIACC exceeds $100,000.

"The College and Wells Fargo continue to be good business and community building partners," said David Buettner, NIACC president. "I’m pleased that Wells Fargo has decided to participate in our major gifts campaign at this level."

The "Keeping NIACC First" Campaign, which had raised $5,166,315 by the end of November, will continue through next March.
