NIACC’s Ski and Snowboard Club Swooshes into Action

As winter approaches, North Iowa Area Community Colleges Ski and Snowboard Club prepares for its busy season. NIACC’s newly rejuvenated Ski and Snowboard Club already boasts 27 members and a lot of excitement.

Club activities range from skiing trips around the Midwest to club fundraising events. The Club is planning a trip to Colorado over Spring Break in March. Also, a Ski Swap fundraiser will be held for the Ski and Snowboard Club on Saturday, Oct. 20 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Wayne’s Ski and Cycle in Mason City. Participants can earn cash for used equipment and look at buying new or used equipment. Events such as this make it possible for the Ski and Snowboard Club to travel to desired skiing destinations.

Advisors for the Ski and Snowboard Club are John Brietzke, NIACC Economics Instructor, and Bruce McKee, NIACC Instructional Technology Coordinator. The next meeting of the NIACC Ski and Snowboard Club is Wednesday, Oct. 10 at 1:30 p.m. in the NIACC Activity Center, Room 101.
