Helgeson to Play Volleyball at NIACC

Jill Helgeson, of Lake Mills, signed a National Letter of Intent to play volleyball at North Iowa Area Community College. Helgeson, daughter of Don and Julie Helgeson, is a senior at Lake Mills High School.

Helgeson is a three-time First Team All-Conference player and an Honorable Mention All-State. She was a four-year letterwinner, a two-year team captain and a three-time First Team All-Area player. Named Albert Lea Tribune Player of the Year in 2001, Helgeson was the Class 1A leader in service aces. Helgeson was also on the honor roll and in the National Honor Society.

"Jill will be a huge asset to our team," NIACC volleyball head coach Rachel McGuire said. "I’ve enjoyed watching her grow and develop her volleyball skills throughout her high school career. I am delighted that Jill has chosen NIACC to continue her career."

Helgeson plans to start her education in nursing at NIACC.
