Morrison Named Interim President at NIACC The North Iowa Area Community College Board of Directors has appointed Dr. Michael Morrison (retired 2008) the College's Interim President. Morrison will assume his new role early January upon the departure of Dr. David Buettner, who is leaving after 20 years to become president at Fox Valley Technical College in Wisconsin. Morrison has served as the Vice President for Academic Affairs at NIACC since 1989. Previously he worked for 19 years in instruction and administration at North Dakota State College of Science. He has an AA degree from Austin Junior College as well as bachelors and masters degree and a PhD from the University of Minnesota. The NIACC Board of Directors is planning its process to fill the leadership post on a permanent basis, according to Board President Kevin Kolbet. "We believe that NIACC's reputation and track record will attract highly qualified candidates internally and nationally," he said. ##### Ref. 2008 |
