Yegge Takes Job at Indiana State

NIACC softball coach Joe Yegge has resigned to take an assistant coach position at Indiana State University. Yegge just completed his fourth season as the Trojan head coach. His 2002 team finished fifth in the difficult Region XI, compiling an impressive 32-21 record. That came on the heels of a tie for third at the 2001 Region XI softball tournament.

“We are going to miss Joe. He had the program going in the right direction, and the girls always played hard for him,” stated NIACC Athletic Director Ryan McGuire. “It is a great opportunity for him, one that he couldn’t refuse.” NIACC returns three All-Region players from 2002, local products Brooke Brodersen of Manly, Erin Lindsay of Nora Springs, and Lindsay Tiedeman of Mason City. The search for Yegge’s successor will begin immediately.
