Iowa Area Community College extends an invitation to 4-H and FFA youth,
their leaders, advisors and parents, and anyone interested in youth
livestock shows to attend the “Iowa Livestock Show Clinic” sponsored
by Agricultural Technology division of NIACC, the North Central Iowa ISU
Extension 4-H Youth coordinators, and ADM Alliance Nutrition, producers of
Show Tec and Catalyst livestock show feeds.
The “Iowa Livestock Show Clinic” provides information to 4-H
and FFA members about management of the show cattle, sheep, and pig
projects. The five hour
program will feature the following topics: Championship Nutrition, Fitting
& Clipping, High End Management, Show Preparation and General Care,
the Judge’s Perspective, and “Hands On” Showmanship - where
participants will work with the species of their choice (2) in a show ring
setting. Clinic presenters
will include: Matt Swantek, Ph.D, Shaun Fritchey, Brian Hines of ADM
Alliance Nutrition, Larry Eichmeier and Chris Chodur of the NIACC Ag
Department, and the following Species presenters; Mark Johnson, Kent
Habeger, Pete Hunter, Dennis Brady, Randy & Janet Gray, the “Greiman’s”,
and we are still contacting others such as Doug Adams, Rod Goldsmith, Al
& Kandy Schminke, and others. A barbeque meal will be served at 5:00. There is no charge for the Livestock Show Clinic. People interested in participating are asked to RSVP Larry Eichmeier @ NIACC by May 30, 2003. 1:30 PM Registration @ Muse Norris Conference Center

Wrap-up, Questions and Door Prizes Participants would be able to select 2 of the 3 species, or could choose to participate in only 1 concurrent session, or if desired spend additional time after the wrap-up to get advanced information or the 3rd species.
