FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Ref. 2454 February 24, 2005 Travel and Adventure Series Explores Norway The 2004-2005 Travel and Adventure Series will continue this month at North Iowa Area Community College. Norway – From the Land of the Vikings, a film by Dale Johnson, takes this season’s series on a journey to visit the home of the Norwegians. NIACC and the Mason City Noon Kiwanis sponsor the Travel and Adventure Series. There will be a 15-minute intermission at which time door prizes will be given away. The film will be presented at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 27, in the North Iowa Community Auditorium. Norway – From the Land of the Vikings will cover the entire Country from south to the North Cape, the most northern point in Europe. Johnson will take viewers on a visit of all the major cities starting with Oslo the Capital and Constitution Day celebration…the biggest holiday in Norway after Christmas. Almost all Norwegians speak English, have a relative living in America, or have visited the U.S. themselves. But they still remain a unique culture and a vibrant, dynamic people, determined to make a satisfying and rewarding life for every citizen in their Country. How they accomplish it is a fascinating study of a success-oriented people. Admission to Norway – From the Land of Vikings at the door is $5 for adults and $3 for students. Tickets can be purchased at NIACC or from any Mason City Noon Kiwanis member. All proceeds go towards area youth programs.
