The group, now nearly 50 strong, was honored to become a part of NIACC’s Performing Arts 2004-2005 Series through a sold out joint performance, "Candlelight Christmas Extravaganza," with the NIACC choir and the River City Barbershop Chorus. In November 2002 the group was also honored to be included in a Performing Arts Series performance by Shirley Jones. This year’s concert includes choral standards "Salvation is Created," by Tschesnokoff , the Brahms "May Night," and Ralph Manuel’s "Alleluia." Also featured in the concert will be a tribute to the United States Armed Forces entitled American Heroes, which is a medley of songs from the different branches of service. Once again the Choral Society will debut a piece by NICS member and NIACC piano instructor William Backlin, "In Sound, In Silence." Finally, the concert will showcase small groups and featured soloists from within the choral society. #####
