90% of NIACC Medical Assistant 2004 Graduates Pass Certified Medical Assistant Examination

Ninety percent of North Iowa Area Community College’s Medical Assistant 2004 graduates have recently passed the Certified Medical Assistant Examination of the American Association of Medical Assistants.

Passing this exam gives successful candidates the title of Certified Medical Assistant. This examination, administered by the National Board of Medical Examiners, is a comprehensive test of general, clinical and administrative knowledge associated with the medical assistant profession. The content is drawn from an in-depth analysis of the numerous tasks performed by medical assistants. Eligible candidates must be graduates from accredited programs of study.

NIACC’s Medical Assistant program is a one-year program, which received initial accreditation in 1999 by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) on recommendation of the Committee of Accreditation for Medical Assistant education.
