PEC20050921 September 21, 2005 NIACC SBDC and SCORE Chapter Offer Starting and Managing a New Business North Iowa Area Community College will host a workshop, Starting and Managing a New Business, at the Pappajohn Business Center on the NIACC Campus. This workshop, sponsored by the Mason City SCORE (Counselors to America’s Small Businesses) Chapter and the NIACC Small Business Development Center, will assist people in starting a new business venture. The 12-hour workshop begins on Wednesday, October 5, at 6:30 p.m. and continues each Wednesday evening through October 26. Classes will be held in the Pappajohn Business Center, Seminar Room 117. A wide array of subjects to provide new business owners a broad overview of startup information and business management techniques will be covered during this popular workshop. Subject matter will include business plans, bank financing, legal concerns, accounting, insurance, advertising, marketing, and much more. This workshop is unique by its utilization of local business owners and professionals as instructors. These individuals volunteer their time to better educate new business owners to become successful and contribute to the North Iowa economy.
